Kadera celebrates 50 years of commitment against domestic violence: anniversary magazine and activities in 2026

In 2026, Kadera will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary. A special milestone for an organization that has grown from a small-scale shelter for victims of domestic violence in Zwolle to a regional expert organization in tackling domestic violence. In honor of this anniversary, a special anniversary magazine will be published, and Kadera is organizing various celebratory and substantive activities throughout the year, including a large reunion for former employees and clients.

Anniversary magazine: fifty years of stories, insights, and development

During the anniversary gathering on January 26, the first copy of the anniversary magazine will be presented. The magazine compiles fifty years of stories, perspectives, and experiences from all decades of the organization. Ambassadors from each era share stories about the changes in shelter, assistance, and policy, and how Kadera has evolved from a pioneering organization into a professional and future-oriented partner in safety and recovery.

The magazine contains interviews, historical photo series, and reflections from employees and clients. The digital version of the magazine can be viewed online.

Anniversary activities in 2026

The anniversary year is dedicated to looking back together and looking forward together. In addition to the official gathering in January, Kadera is organizing various activities throughout the year for employees, volunteers, partners, and business relations.
The major anniversary day for employees and volunteers takes place in June, featuring an extensive afternoon and evening program.

Reunion for former employees and former clients

A special part of this anniversary year is the grand reunion in September 2026. This day is intended to bring former colleagues and clients together again, to reminisce, and to reflect on the impact Kadera has had on so many for fifty years. The reunion offers a warm, safe, and familiar environment where there is room for stories, connection, and pride in how far we have come as an organization and community. Would you like to register for the reunion? Then please send an email to jubileum@kadera.nl

A year of celebrating, sharing, and looking ahead

The fiftieth anniversary is not only a celebration of the past and milestones, but also a moment to look ahead to the future of the approach to domestic violence. The anniversary magazine, the gatherings, and the reunion together form an ode to everyone who is or has been part of the Kadera community: clients, employees, volunteers, partners, and ambassadors.

Kadera kijkt uit naar een jaar vol ontmoeting, inspiratie en dankbaarheid — en naar de volgende stap in het bouwen aan een veilige toekomst voor iedereen.
